INGREDIENTS

To create these delightful Honey Garlic Meatballs, you'll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 (32 oz) bag of frozen homestyle meatballs
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic, minced




INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1:  Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until well combined.
Step 2:  Crockpot Cooking 
  1. Place the frozen meatballs in the bottom of the crockpot in s single layer.
  2. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the meatballs ensuring they are fully coated.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
Step 3:  Serve and Enjoy
  1. Once cooked, transfer the meatballs to a serving dish.
  2. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired
  3. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.



FOR A HOMEMADE MEATBALL OPTION

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp chopped parsley

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley.  Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the meatballs and cook until they are browned on all sides.  This step is optional, but adds a delicious crust to the meatballs. 


TIPS AND VARIATIONS
  • Make it Spicy:  Add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Gluten-Free Option:  Use gluten-free meatballs and tamari instead of soy sauce.
