I live in West Virginia. Around here we talk a little slower, wave to everyone like we know them, and you can bet your bottom dollar that EVERYONE has a casserole recipe (or two) that they can whip up in their sleep without even thinking about it! This Chicken and Stuffing Casserole Recipe is just that!
This is one of those dump and go kinda casseroles that require very little preparation which makes it PERFECT for any busy night! I know you're going to LOVE this one so...
Let's get started!
For this Chicken and Stuffing Casserole you're going to need a few simple ingredients.
- 4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
- 1 Box of Stuffing Mix
- 1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 c Sour Cream
- 1 c Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Salt and Pepper
- Chives to top
To begin you'll need to pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees.
While the oven is preheating go ahead and prepare the stuffing mix according to the directions on the box. This literally only take minutes.
While the stuffing is cooking, place the chicken into a greased baking dish and season with a little salt and pepper.
After that, go ahead and mix the sour cream and cream of mushroom soup together in a small mixing bowl.
Once they're combined, go ahead and spread the mixture over the chicken.
Just look at that! You know good things are about to happen here.
By now the stuffing should be finished. Place it over the top of the entire casserole.
Place your Chicken and Stuffing Casserole into the preheated oven.
Set the timer for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes remove the casserole from the oven.
OOOOOOO GIRL! Look at all those crispy bits!
Now you're going to sprinkle the cheese over the top of the casserole.
Return the casserole to the oven for 10 more minutes.
We're almost there!
After 10 minutes, you're ready to eat!
Just look at that GORGEOUS stuffing crust with all those luscious crispy bits! AND THAT CHEESE! Sprinkle the chopped chives over the top for a little added flavor, color, and freshness!
Now scoop you out a piece of that chicken with the crispy crust, take a bite, and ENJOY! IT IS SO GOOD! And that gravy y'all! It will make your tongue fall out yo mouth and smack your momma! LOL I served this with some fresh steamed broccoli, but a nice salad would be great too! This Chicken and Stuffing Casserole Recipe is perfect for a busy weeknight, family dinner, church function, anything so get in the kitchen and give it a try TONIGHT!
And as always...
Happy Reading, Happy Eating, and Happy Living,
