Bursting with flavors and ready in under 30 minutes, it's a family favorite that you'll make again and again.  I know you're going to love this one so...

Let's Get Started!

  1. Quick and Easy:  This one pot wonder comes together in just 30 minutes, making it perfect for busy weeknights.
  2. Minimal Cleanup:  With everything cooked in a single pot, you won't be left with a pile of dishes.
  3. Healthy and Nutritious:  Packed with broccoli and lean Italian Sausage, this dish is a well-balanced meal.
  4. Flavorful:  The combination of garlic, chili flakes, pesto, and Parmesan cheese ensures every bite is full of flavor.

For this Easy One Pot Orecchiette with Broccoli and Italian Sausage Recipe you will need to gather a few simple ingredients.

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 lb Orecchiette Pasta
  • 1 lb Italian Sausage
  • 1 lb Fresh Broccoli
  • 1 (6 oz) jar of Pesto
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1/4 tsp Chili Flake
  • 4 Cloves of Garlic, minced

  1. Brown the Sausage:  In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.  Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.  This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add Garlic and Red Pepper Flakes:  Stir in the mined garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Cook the Pasta and Broccoli:  Add the orecchiette pasta and chicken broth to the pot.  Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.  Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the Broccoli:  Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the pasta is al dente and the broccoli is tender.
  5. Finish with Parmesan Cheese and Pesto:  Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and pesto sauce until smooth and everything is coated.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:  Serve hot, topped with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.  Enjoy your delicious one-pot meal!

  • Use Fresh Ingredients:  Fresh broccoli and high-quality Italian Sausage will make a big difference in flavor.
  • Don't Overcook the Pasta:  Be sure to check the pasta for doneness.  Orecchiette should be al dente.
  • Adjust Spice Level:  If you prefer a milder dish, you can omit the red pepper flakes or reduce the amount.

  • Vegetarian Option:  Substitute the Italian sausage with plant-based sausage or extra vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini.
  • Gluten-Free:  Use gluten-free pasta to make this dish suitable for those with gluten sensitivities.
  • Extra Greens:  Add a handful of spinach or kale at the end for an extra boost of greens.

This Easy One-Pot Orecchiette with Broccoli and Italian Sausage is a lifesaver on busy nights.  It's a flavorful, nutritious meal that requires minimal effort and cleanup.  Give it a try, and it might just become a regular in your dinner rotation!

And as always...
