Welcome to my kitchen! Today, I'm bringing you a tropical twist to your burger game with my mouthwatering Hawaiian BBQ Burger.
This delicious recipe combines juicy beef patties, sweet pineapple, savory BBQ sauce, and crispy bacon for a flavor explosion that will transport you straight to the islands. Perfect for summer cookouts, weeknight dinners, or whenever you're craving a taste of paradise. I can't wait to share it with you so...
Let's get started!
INGREDIENTS
To make the perfect Hawaiian BBQ Burger, you will need the following ingredients
- 4 Pretzel Buns
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 4 Slices of Canned Pineapple Rings
- 4 Slices of American Cheese
- 4 Slices of Red Onion
- 8 Slices of Bacon
- 1 cup BBQ Sauce
- Salt and Pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prepare the Patties:
- In a large bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide the beef into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.
2. Cook the Bacon:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
3. Grill the Patties:
- Place the beef patties on the grill. Cook about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach you desired level of doneness. In the last minute of grilling place the cheese on each patty to allow it to melt.
4. Grill the Pineapple:
- Brush the pineapple rings with olive oil and grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until grill marks appear. Set aside.
5. Toast the Buns:
- Lightly toast the pretzel bunson the grill about 1-2 minutes until they are golden brown.
6. Assemble the Burgers:
- Spread a generous amount of BBQ sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place the beef patty with melted cheese on the BBQ sauce. Add a grilled pineapple ring, 2 slices of bacon, a slice of red onion, and finish with the top half of the bun.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Serve you Hawaiian BBQ Burgers with a side of sweet potato fries, coleslaw, or fresh green salad. For an extra tropical touch, enjoy with a cold glass of pineapple lemonade or fruity cocktail.
TIPS FOR THE BEST HAWAIIAN BBQ BURGER
- Quality beef: Use 80% lean ground beef for the juiciest burgers.
- Fresh Pineapple: Fresh pineapple adds more flavor and texture compared to canned.
- BBQ Sauce: Opt for a smokey, sweet BBQ sauce to complement the pineapple's sweetness.
- Cheese Choices: While I used American here, feel free to experiment with Swiss, cheddar, or even pepper jack.
And as always...
Happy Eatin' Y'all
