A plate of the fun and festive Cinnamon Roll Christmas Trees.

Made with canned cinnamon rolls, these festive treats are a fun project for all ages and make the perfect addition to your Christmas morning breakfast or holiday brunch.  Let's dive into this simple yet impressive recipe that's bound to become a holiday tradition!  I can't wait to share it with you so...

Let's Get Started!

WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS RECIPE:

  • Easy to Make:  Using canned cinnamon rolls saves time and effort, so you can focus on decorating and enjoying.
  • Family Friendly:  A perfect activity to do with kids.  Let them help shape the trees and add decorations!
  • Versatile:  Customize the decorations with colored icing, sprinkles, or edible glitter to make them uniquely yours.
  • Festive and Fun:  These Christmas tree-shaped rolls add a whimsical touch to any holiday table.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 can of Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls with icing (the must be the ones that roll)
  • Green Food Coloring
  • Assorted Sprinkles, Mini Candies, or Edible Decorations

HOW TO MAKE CINNAMON ROLL CHRISTMAS TREES:
  1. Prepare Your Cinnamon Rolls:  Preheat your oven according to the package instructions.  Open the can of cinnamon rolls and separate them into individual rolls.
  2. Shape the Trees:  Unroll each cinnamon roll into a strip.  Starting at one end, fold the strip back and forth in a zigzag pattern to create a tree shape (wider at the base and tapering at the top).  Pinch the tip to form a point and place each tree on a lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake:  Bake the trees according to the package instructions, keeping an eye on them as they make bake slightly faster than regular rolls due to their shape.  Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  4. Decorate:  Mix the provided icing with a few drops of green food coloring to make tree "frosting".  Drizzle the green icing over the trees.  Decorate with sprinkles, mini candies, or other edible decorations to mimic ornaments and lights.
  5. Enjoy:  Serve your Cinnamon Roll Trees with a side of sausage and fruit for a complete meal

TIPS AND TRICKS:
  • Keep It Cool:  If the cinnamon roll dough becomes too warm and sticky, pop it in the fridge for a few minutes to make shaping easier.
  • Add a Trunk:  Place a small piece of pretzel stick at the base of each tree to resemble a trunk.
  • Experiment with Toppings:  Try crushed peppermint, chocolate chips, or gold star-shaped candies for a variety or looks.
  • Double the Fun:  Hosting a holiday party?  Set up a DIY decorating station and let your guests personalize their own cinnamon roll trees!
