INGREDIENTS:

For these Easy French Dip Sliders with Simple Au Jus Sauce you will need a few simple ingredients:

  • 1 12 pack of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 1 pound Thinly Sliced, Deli Style Roast Beef
  • 12 slices of Provolone Cheese
  • Horseradish Mayonnaise**
  • 1 (1 oz) Packet of Au Jus Sauce
  • 4 Tbsp Butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, (optional) Kinder's Caramelized Onion Seasoning, (optional) Kinder's Buttery Steakhouse Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • Crispy Fried Onions

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Prepare the Sliders:  Preheat the oven to 350°F/175°C.  Slice the slider buns in half, keeping the tops and bottoms connected as one sheet.  Place the bottom halves of the buns in a baking sheet.
  2. Layer the Ingredients:  Evenly layer the provolone cheese on top of the bottom buns.  Add a layer of roast beef to that.  Add another layer of cheese on top of the beef.  This will keep the buns from getting soggy.  Sprinkle the French fried onions over the cheese.  Slather a healthy amount of the horseradish mayo on the underside of the top buns and place them on top of the sliders.
  3. Make the Topping:  In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter,  Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional seasonings.  Brush the mixture generously over the tops of the sliders.
  4. Bake the Sliders:  Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.  Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.  Remove from the oven and let the sliders cool for a few minutes before cutting them into individual sliders.
  5. Prepare the Au Jus Sauce:  While the sliders are baking, make the au jus sauce.  Simply follow the instructions on the packet.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:  Serve the sliders warm with the au jus sauce on the side for dipping.  Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

TIPS AND TRICKS:
  • Roast Beef:  For extra flavor, ask you deli for a thicker cut of roast beef, or used leftover homemade roast beef.
  • Cheese Options:  While provolone or swiss are classic choices, you can mix it up with cheddar or pepper jack for a spicy kick.
  • Make-Ahead:  Assemble the sliders a few hours in advance and keep them covered in the fridge.  Just pop them in the oven when you're ready to serve!  Leftovers:  Store any leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.  Reheat in the oven to keep the bread crispy.
