  • Flavor Packed:  The steak is seasoned to perfection and cooked just right, delivering mouthwatering bites every time.

  • Perfect for Any Occasion:  Great for lunch, dinner, or even a game day snack, this steak sandwich is versatile enough for any meal.

INGREDEINTS:

  • 1 (14 oz) package of Shaved Beef
  • 1 (8 count) package of Sub Buns
  • 1 (10 oz) bag of Frozen Pepper and Onion Blend
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • Provolone Cheese, sliced

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Cook the Vegetables:  Place a pan over medium-high heat.  Add oil or butter to a pan and let it get hot.  Add the pepper and onion blend until tender and slightly charred.  To achieve this allow all the liquid to evaporate and the peppers to begin to blacken.  This make take about 10 minutes.  Remove from the pan.
  2. Cook the Meat:  Add a little more oil or butter to the pan.  Sprinkle the seasoning over the beef.  Add to the pan and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes.  It cooks fast.
  3. Assemble the Steak Filling:  Return the peppers and onions to the pan.  Top with provolone cheese.  Place the lid on the pan to allow the cheese to melt or place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes to get it brown and bubbly.
  4. Serve:  Serve the steak and cheese filling on a sub bun and Enjoy!

TIPS AND TRICKS:
  • Thinly Sliced Steak:  If you can't find shaved beef you can use your favorite steak.  You just need to make sure it is very thinly sliced.  To make slicing the steak easier, pop it in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes before slicing.  The firms up the meat, allowing for thinner slices.
  • Cheese Options:  Provolone is a classic choice, but you can swap it out for cheddar, Swiss, or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
  • Bread Choice:  Hoagie Rolls are traditional, but feel free to use whatever crusty bread you prefer.
  • Make it Spicy:  Add a kick by mixing a but sriracha or hot sauce into your mayo sprinkling red pepper flakes over the steak.

FAQs:

Can I use a different cut of steak?

Absolutely!  While ribeye or sirloin are ideal, you can also use flank steak or even leftover grilled steak for this recipe.

How do I store leftovers?

If you have any leftover steak filling, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.  Reheat gently in a skillet before assembling your sandwich.

What side dishes go well with a steak sandwich?

A steak sandwich pairs wonderfully with crispy fries, a fresh green salad, or even a cup of soup on the side.
