Holiday Gift Ideas for Your Pet: Cat Toy Puzzle Box

It's November, and we are officially entering the holiday season.  It's the most wonderful time of the year, yes, but it is also the BUSIEST time of the year as well.  I find myself constantly rushing here and rushing there just trying to keep up.  One thing that I find can get a little lost in the holiday shuffle are my pets.

This year, however, I have partnered with Purina for the #ToPetsWithLove campaign and put together this wonderful holiday care package for my furry friends.  I can't wait to share it with you so...

Let's Get Started!

I have three of the most adorable, lovable pets you have ever met!

There's my pug Louie.  He is so laid back and snuggly.  He knows no stranger, and everyone loves him.

Then there's Lizzie-Jane, our chihuahua.   Lizzie-Jane is a diva. She has a princess prance and the attitude to match, but you can't help but to melt when she crawls into your arms for a cuddle.

And finally there is Tomee Girl.  Tomee Girl is our queen bee. She keeps everyone in line and no one doubts who's in charge. She is also very mothering. lol She is constantly grooming our dogs, and I'm pretty sure she is convinced that Lizzie is part cat.

It's easy to take their presence for granted when life gets crazy, so that's why I decided to treat them the other day when I was doing some grocery shopping at Kroger.

I was really impressed at the selection of both dog and cat foods they have, as well as treats for each.

I picked up some Purina Beniful Incredibites for the dogs.  I love that the first ingredient is meat and that there is no sugar added, not to mention they are just the right size bites for my little dogs.

Then I grabbed some Fancy Feast Purely for the cat.  I love that it features real sea food, chicken, and beef with no added bi-product or fillers.

As I walked further down the aisle I was totally inspired by the toy section they had available and decided I was going to pick up a couple new toys for the dogs and make a puzzle box for my cat.  Let me show you how I did it!

  1. First I picked up an inexpensive storage container, a few cat toys, and some Frisky's Party Mix.
  2. Then I cut two hole in the lid of the container that are large enough got my cat to get the toys out of.  To keep from injuring my cat I put tape around any sharp edges.
  3. Then I placed the toys in the container.
  4. I placed the lid on top, and you are ready to go!

As you can see from the video, she really enjoyed it!

So this year don't leave your pets out, but spread holiday love to your furry friends with the help of Purina! Now through the end of November, take advantage of great savings on your favorite Purina pet products available at Kroger with this Coupons.com link, while supplies last.

And as always...

  3. I stopped making toys for the cat, as she seems more determined to play with wayward trash. Maybe I can put some trash in the cat puzzle? Haha! #client

  4. The two little dogs got new beds a couple of years ago, courtesy of reward points we had accumulated. Also new plush toys from the discount store, on clearance.

  6. Love the cat puzzle box idea!! Best thing we did for pets was get rid of dry food. We stopped because of hearing how long it sits around in storage places with rats, mice and other vermin! Nothing but canned now and we have much healthier pets. Coats are better, not drinking as much water! Have to make Box soon!!
