I love steak!
I said it. I'm not ashamed! Nothing beats the flavor of great beef. The thing is, steak can get pricey. But don't let that discourage you. With my Perfect Steak Fajitas you can have a great steak dinner, that will feed 4-6 people, for UNDER $20! YES!!! Isn't that awesome? I know what you are thinking. "What's the catch?" There's no catch. You just have to know what kind of steak to shop for! My secret to these fajitas is top round. Top round is quickly becoming my favorite cut for things like sandwiches and fajitas. It is still inexpensive because it isn't trendy yet, and it has fantastic flavor. You are going to LOVE this recipe and I can't wait to share it with you so LET'S GET STARTED!
Perfect Steak Fajitas:

- 4 Cloves of Garlic, sliced
- 2-3 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp. Onion Powder
- 1 tsp. Oregano
- 1 tsp. Chili Powder
- 1 tsp. Cumin
- 1/2 tsp. Pepper
- Flour Tortillas
- Toppings of your choice
To begin you will need to thinly slice the top round, and place it into a bowl.
To the steak add 2-3 tbsp. of oil.
Then add the salt,
Pepper,
Garlic Powder,
Onion, powder,
Oregano,
Chili Powder
And cumin.
Next, using you hands, toss so that everything is coated with the seasoning.
Set the bowl aside to let marinade and prep the rest of your vegetables.
Now you can place a skillet over high heat and let get hot. I prefer using a cast iron skillet for this, but if you do not have one use what ever you have.
Add a little oil and butter.
Once the pan is SMOKING HOT, add the steak.
Cook for about five minutes, then remove from pan and place on a plate.
Set to the side.
Add a little more oil to the skillet.
Now toss in the onions and peppers.
Season with salt and
Pepper.
Cook until the begin to soften and then add the garlic.
Cook until you smell it coming from the pan.
Return the teak and any drippings to the pan and toss.
Remove from heat.
For the tortilla shells, you can either microwave them, OR you can place a dry skillet over a medium/high flame and
Place the tortilla in the pan, turning periodically, until browned and warm.
To keep them warm, wrap in a clean dish towel.
And there you have it! It's that simple! Simply add the steak filling to your warm tortilla top with whatever you want! I personally love a little queso fresco, cilantro, and lime. So the next time you find yourself craving steak, but don't have a lot of cash to spend, give these Perfect Steak Fajitas a try! You will be so glad you did!
And as always,
