Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

It's the end of the month, and if you are like me, that grocery budget is pretty tight and you are doing your best to stay on point.  Then comes Friday night!  You have finally made it to the weekend and, under normal circumstances, you would call up your local pizza place and order in!  However, that just isn't in the budget right now, BUT WAIT!  Maybe instead of ordering out, you can make it yourself.  The great thing about pizza is it is only limited to your imagination and you can use whatever you have on hand to make it work!  With that in mind, let me share with you this DELICIOUS Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza with a "special sauce" that I actually threw together one afternoon while babysitting my nephew!  I just know you are going to love it!

Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza:
*Prep Time:  1 hour  *Cook Time:  15-20 min.  *Difficulty:  Easy  *Servings:  12 slices.

Ingredients:

  • 1 batch of Homemade Pizza Dough (Recipe Here)
  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 2 c. Shredded Cheese
  • Real Bacon Bits
  • 1 c. Ketchup
  • 1 c. Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper
Pre-Heat the oven to 450 degrees.

If you are making your Pizza Dough from scratch, you will go ahead and start it not.  You can even make it the night before.  You can also use a boxed mix, store bought dough, or canned.  Hey, you can even use some left over french bread.  Whatever you have available to you!

While the dough is rising mix the mayonnaise and ketchup together in a mixing bowl.
Trust me on this.  You are about to have one delicious sauce that is soooooo simple!

Look at that!  It just looks good!  ;)

Now you can add the ground beef to a hot skillet and season, liberally, with salt and pepper.

For a little boost of flavor, add the Worcestershire sauce.
Cook until the meat is no longer pink and it is browned.

To a baking sheet, add a little oil and, using your fingers, press the dough out in the pan.
(Remember, is is after you have already rolled it our according to the Homemade Dough recipe.)

Now add your special sauce,

 Add the cooked ground beef.

 Add the bacon bits.

And finally, add the cheese.
Place in the 450 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
When it is finished, you can take it out of the oven and transfer to your cutting board.

Gaze upon that SCRUMPTIOUS pizza!  It was so good that my nephew, Colton, just couldn't help himself!  In the oven the "Special Sauce" thickens and becomes this delightful sweet and tangy glaze.  It literally tastes like you are eating a cheeseburger.  You could top this with some shredded lettuce, maybe even add some sliced "pickle"eronni!  However you choose to serve this, your family will love helping you make it AND eat it!  And the best thing...No plates required! Just eat it right off the board!  So get in the kitchen tonight and make this AMAZING pizza!  You won't regret it.

And as always,

Happy Reading, Happy Eating, and Happy Living,
~The Kitchen Wife~
