How to Make Homemade Sesame Noodles Recipe

You may or may not have noticed this, but one of my favorite forms of cuisine is Asian food.  I love it!  I love the flavors, the scents, the textures, everything. Here in the Mid-Ohio Valley we have a plethora of Asian restaurants to choose from, but the reality of the situation is I don't always have the extra money to eat out.   That's why I like to have a couple of my favorite Asian recipes in my back pocket to make at home.  One such recipe is my Sesame Noodles.

 They're quick, easy, and so very good!  I can't wait to show you how I do it so... 

Let's get started!  

Sesame Noodles:
*Prep Time: 5 minutes  *Cook Time:  10 minutes  *Difficulty:  Easy  *Servings:  8

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Spaghetti Noodles
  • 1/4 c. Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 4 Cloves of Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 tsp. Chili Garlic Sauce (or Siracha)
  • 4 tbsp. Canola Oil
  • Green Onions, sliced for garnish
  • Sesame seeds

This recipe is going to go by pretty fast.  

To kick things off go ahead and place a pot of water over medium/high heat and bring to a boil.

To the water add a tablespoon of salt.
Why?  Because this is the ONLY chance you will have to season your pasta.

Once the salted water comes to a boil, add the pasta and cook according to the instructions on the box.

Next add the minced garlic, soy sauce and brown sugar to a mixing bowl or measuring cup.

I love these OXO liquid measuring cups because you can see the measurements from the top.

Add the rice wine vinegar.

Add the sesame oil.

And add the garlic chili sauce.
Whisk it all together.

When your pasta has finished cooking drain it and

Return it to the pot you cooked it in.

To the hot pasta, pour in the sesame sauce.

Give everything a good toss, allowing the hot pasta to absorb all of those great flavors from the sauce.  There will be a little excess in the bottom of the pan.

Now add HALF of your sliced green onions and sprinkle in some sesame seeds.

 Give it another quick toss.

 Plate and serve!  

There you have it!  This is the perfect meal for your busy midweek when you are wearing down, but don't want to go out.  It is done in under 20 minutes, and it is just as good as take out!  You will not be disappointed!  So get in your kitchen tonight and make these simple and quick Sesame Noodles!

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. Spaghetti Noodles
  • 1/4 c. Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Brown Sugar

  • 2 tbsp. Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 tsp. Chili Garlic Sauce (or Siracha)
  • 4 tbsp. Canola Oil
  • Green Onions, sliced for garnish

Directions:
  1. Place a pot of salted water over a medium/high heat and bring to a boil. 
  2. Add pasta to the pot and cook according to the directions on the box. 
  3. To a mixing bowl or measuring cup add the soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, rice vinegar, canola oil sesame oil, and garlic chili sauce.  Whisk together.  
  4. When pasta is finished cooking, drain, and immediately return the the pot.  
  5. Pour the sauce over the hot noodles and toss.  
  6. Add HALF of the green onions and some sesame seeds.
  7. Toss.
  8. Serve and enjoy.
