Garlic Butter Steak Bites (Plus a Plant-Based Twist)

Garlic Butter Steak Bites (Plus a Plant-Based Twist)

Hey Y'all!  Welcome to my West Virginia kitchen where dinner needs to be bold, comforting, and on the table before everyone starts asking what’s taking so long. These Garlic Butter Steak Bites are one of those recipes that looks fancy, tastes like you tried way harder than you did, and somehow still fits into real-life weeknight chaos.

This is the kind of meal I make when I want steakhouse vibes without steakhouse prices… or pants with buttons. Juicy steak, sizzling garlic butter, and a skillet doing most of the heavy lifting? Yes, please.

And because not everyone at the table eats steak, I’m also sharing a plant-based version using Beyond Steak Bites that delivers big flavor with zero compromise.

I can't wait to share it with you so...

Let's Get Started!

Why You’ll Love These Garlic Butter Steak Bites

  • Fast: Dinner in about 15 minutes
  • Simple ingredients: Pantry staples only
  • One pan: Easy cleanup
  • Versatile: Steak or plant-based, your choice

Ingredients (Classic Steak Version)

  • 1½ lbs steak (sirloin, ribeye, or strip), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp fresh parsley or thyme, chopped

How to Make Garlic Butter Steak Bites

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with the olive oil.
  2. Season the steak bites generously with salt and black pepper only.
  3. Add steak to the skillet in a single layer. Sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking.
  4. Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Lower heat to medium. Add butter and garlic to the pan, then stir in onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Let spices bloom for about 30 seconds, scraping up browned bits.
  6. Return steak to the skillet and toss until fully coated in garlic butter.
  7. Finish with fresh herbs if using. Serve immediately.
