I have a confession to make. I'm falling in love with my crockpot. I know, I know, I've said on here many times that I am not a fan, but it's growing on me. I think the overall simplicity of it is what gets me. You throw some ingredients in, set it, and go! Take this Crockpot Chicken with Mushroom Gravy Recipe for example.
It's just three ingredients that taste like a million bucks! I know you're gonna love it so...
Let's Get Started!
Crockpot Chicken with Mushroom Gravy:
*Prep Time: 5 min *Cook Time: 4-8 hours *Difficulty: Easy *Servings: 4
Ingredients:
- 4 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
- 6 Mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 1 Packet of French Onion Soup Mix
- 1.5 c Water
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 4 Tbsp Cornstarch
To begin you will need to slice your mushrooms.
After that place the chicken into the bottom of your slow cooker.
Cover the chicken with the sliced mushrooms.
Of course if mushrooms are not your thing you can omit them. It is STILL going to be delicious!
Now sprinkle the french onion soup mix all over the chicken and mushrooms.
Season with the pepper.
You will notice that I am not adding any extra salt here. That is because the soup mix provides enough salt for the dish.
Pour in ONE CUP of water.
Set the crock pot on low and cook for no less than 4 hours.
30 minutes before you eat you will add the cornstarch to a dish.
Pour in the half cup of water and mix together.
This makes what is called a slurry. It is what will thicken your gravy.
Add the slurry to the crockpot.
Mix everything together.
Cook for 30 minutes.
And there you have it! A mouthwatering meal of Crockpot Chicken with Mushroom Gravy! I served mine with mashed potatoes and broccoli, but this would go great with just about anything! I know this is going to be a new family favorite, so get in the kitchen and make it TONIGHT!
And as always...
