Perfect Paleo Pie Crust Recipe

For my family, holiday desserts are all about the pie. However, we're all trying to make better choices these day, so today I am going to be using Bob's Red Mill Super-Fine Almond Flour to demonstrate how to make the Perfect Paleo Pie Crust.

Low carb and gluten free, this Perfect Paleo Pie Crust is the perfect light and flakey accompaniment to ANY pie!  It's so easy to make and I know you're going to love it, so...

Let's Get Started!

Perfect Paleo Pie Crust:
*Prep Time: 5 min *Cook Time:  8-12 minutes *Difficulty: Easy *Servings: 1 Pie

Ingredients:

To begin you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees (176 degrees C).

Next you will need to add the Bob's Red Mill Super-Fine Almond Flour to your food processor.

I like using Bob's Red Mill Almond Flour because  not only is it ground from whole, blanched sweet almonds, but it has a good does of protein, vitamin E, and is naturally low carb!  You can't really beat that can you?

Now add the salt to the almond flour in the food processor.

Gently buzz those together.

After that you can add the coconut oil and egg.
Pulse everything together until it forms a ball.

You can also do this in a mixing bowl if you don't have a food processor, it just takes a little bit more effort to get everything mixed together.

The consistency should remind your of cookie dough.

Next place the dough into a 9 inch pie plate.

Then you can gently press the crust into the pie plate and up the sides.

This step was surprisingly easy.

Because I am a good southern girl I, I HAD to do a little something to the edges to make them pretty, but you don't have to.

Place the pie crust into a 350 degree oven for 8-12 minutes until golden grown, and there you go.

From here you can add any filling you like.

Since Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I made my Perfect Paleo Pumpkin Pie!
Do you SEE how gorgeous and golden grown that crust is!?!

YAAAASSSS!!!

Oh, and if you are wondering how well it holds up to slicing and serving...

BOOM!

Perfection!  This trust is light and flaky and FULL of flavor and for those of us who are trying to enjoy the holidays while still eating healthy this Perfect Paleo Pie Crust is a perfect option.  And I PROMISE you it's a whole lot easier than a traditional pie crust.  So head on out to your local grocer and pick up some Bob's Red Mill Super-Fine Almond Flour.  Oh, and be sure to use this great COUPON to save a little money while you're at it!

And as always,

Happy Reading, Happy Eating, and Happy Holidays
