Natural Bathroom Cleaner

I was blown away by your response to my Natural All Purpose Cleaner recipe! Because of that, I have decided to share another one with you.

As I've mentioned before, in 2015 I have been working to become as chemical-free in my home as possible.  It's because of that I have been making many of my own household cleaners.  One of the harshest store bought cleaners in your home is your bathroom cleaner.  Mine was so toxic that it even said to make sure the room was well ventilated while using it.  So when I began the journey of making my own cleaners, that was one of the first ones I researched.  I have to say that when I stumbled across this recipe in an old book of my mother-in-law's I was a little skeptical.  I mean Vodka?  But when I began researching the cleaning properties I thought "Well, I'll give it a try."  You see, vodka's high alcohol content is what makes it great for killing germs, mold, and mildew, and it does not have a harsh smell to it.  However, if you are not comfortable with using vodka feel free to substitute with rubbing alcohol.  Though it's not as strong as vodka, it produces a similar result.

Let's Get Started!

Natural Bathroom Cleaner:

*Prep Time:  3 min.   *Cook Time:  --  *Difficulty:  Easy  *Yields 1 10 oz. Bottle.  (2 week shelf life)

Ingredients: 

• 1 1/2 c. of Water
• 1/2 c. of White Vinegar
• 1/2 c. f Vodka (or Rubbing Alcohol)
• 10 drops of Lemon Essential Oil 
• 10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
• 1 10 oz. Glass Spray Bottle

To begin you will need to purchase a glass spray bottle.  The reason being you are using a citrus based essential oil and they will erode the plastic which will produce a chemical reaction in your cleaner and "ain't nobody got time fo dat!". 

To your glass bottle add the water,

Vinegar,

Vodka,

Whoops!  I forgot to take a picture of myself putting the oils in so I borrowed one from the All Purpose Cleaner, but you get the picture (no pun intended).

 Now add the lemon essential oil and lavender essential oils.

Place the lid on the bottle, give it a little shake, and you are ready to get cleaning!

Simply spray on your surfaces and wipe clean.  I like to leave a bottle in my bathroom an spray the shower down after every use.  This really helped to cut down on any soap scum and ring-around-the- tub.

As I said before the vodka kills germs as well as mold & mildew.  The vinegar has wonderful germ killing properties as well.   The lemon and lavender essential oils give this cleaner and fresh and floral scent that it out of this world.  By FAR the best smelling cleaner I have ever used.

After using this cleaner daily for over a month I can't rave about it enough!  I know you are going to love it and the best part, no more toxic fumes that require ventilation.  So enjoy this cleaner and as always...

Direction:

1. To a glass spray bottle add the water, vinegar, vodka or rubbing alcohol, and essential oils. 
2. Place lid on the container and shake. 
3. Spray bathroom surfaces and wipe clean.  
4. Spray shower down daily for added cleaning.
