Crockpot Teriyaki Meatballs

I had the best weekend!

You see, my best friend's birthday is in September.  Her mother's birthday, who I'm also very close to, is in December.  Then you have my birthday in January.  Throw Christmas in there and you have a lot of gift buying and giving.  So a few years back we decided that we weren't going to do gifts anymore.  No, we were going to make memories and so began the Ya-Ya winter road trips!  Usually we go to a big city, but this year we decided to switch it up and head to Virginia Beach!

Even though is was mid-January we couldn't have asked for better weather!  It was sunny and in the mid fifties all weekend.

*sigh*  Just stunning.  I adore the sea and I miss it already.

Well, needless to say it is now Monday and, after a LONG day of traveling, I don't really have a desire to cook.  Perhaps you have had a busy weekend of ball games, horseback lesson, traveling, dance, working, etc. and you too have no desire to cook a big meal.  Good news, I've got your back!  Yes, I always try to have some great slow cooker meals, that are super simple, and take next to no time to throw together, in my back pocket.  At the top of this list, my Slow-Cooker Teriyaki Meatballs.  Using a few pantry staples, you will literally have this in your slow-cooker in 5 minutes, and on your table in 2 hours.  It's absolutely scrumptious, and I can't wait to share it with you!

Let's get started!

Slow Cooker Teriyaki Meatballs:
*Prep Time: 5 minutes  *Cook Time:  2 Hours  *Difficulty:  Easy  *Servings:  8-6

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 c. Water
  • 3 tbsp. Corn Starch
  • 1/2 c.  Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 c. Honey
  • 1/2 c. Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Powder.
  • 1 tsp. Sesame Oil
  • 1 bag of Frozen Meatballs
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Green Onion
Okay, pay attention because this is going to go super quick!

To begin add the water to a sauce pan.

Then, to the water add the corn starch.

Whisk together.

Next, add the brown sugar...

Honey...

Soy Sauce...

Sesame oil...

And garlic powder.

Whisk together until smooth.

Place over medium/high heat and bring to a simmer.

Let simmer for 2 minutes, while whisking, until the sauce thickens.

It should looks something like this.

Place the frozen meatballs into your slow cooker.

I know, I know, I am always preaching from scratch and fresh, but SOMETIMES you just need to cut a corner, and this is one I can live with.

Pour the sauce over the meatballs.

Toss until coated.

Place the lid on the slow cooker and turn it to high for 2 hours or low for 4.
I like to stir it occasionally.

And VIOLA!

There you have it!  I like to serve this with a little rice and garnish them with some sesame seeds and green onions.  I mean does it get any easier?

These Slow Cooker Teriyaki Meatballs are so delicious and fun to eat, I KNOW the entire family is going to love them!  They are also great for a last minute pot luck too!  So don't worry about slaving away over a hot oven tonight, give this simple recipe a try!

And as always...

  1. In the cockpot as I type this. The sauce is delicious. I'm cooking it on low for four hours. I think that the longer it sits with the sauce, the better. Thanks for an easy recipe.

    1. Of course! Low sodium soy is just my preference. You can feel free to use any kind of soy sauce you like.
