Studhub's Steakhouse Meatloaf Recipe

There's an ongoing joke in my house that if my husband isn't nice to me, I won't cook for him.  However, the reality is my husband is actually a very good cook.  One of the things I love most about him in the kitchen is that he's so adventurous!  He loves to explore and experiment with different things, and I am always BLOWN AWAY with what he comes up with. His greatest triumph to date is this Steakhouse Meatloaf.

A slice of steakhouse meatloaf, on a plate, with side dishes and the title above.

It has all of those bold steakhouse flavors that you love, but a price tag that you can afford.  I'll also share with you a way you can really dress this up at the end of this post so keep reading!  I can't wait to share it with you so...

Let's Get Started!

Studhubs Steakhouse Meatloaf Recipe:
*Prep Time: 10 minutes *Cook Time: 1 hour *Difficulty:  Easy *Servings: 6-8

Ingredients:

The ingredients needed to make the Steakhouse Meatloaf

For the Meat Mixture:
  • 2 lb of Ground Meat (I used beef, but you can use turkey)
  • 2 Eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 c Milk
  • 1 c Bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp Dried Minced Onion (or 1 onion, finely chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Italian Seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp Shredded Horseradish
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Ground Pepper
For the Glaze:
  • 1/4 c Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 c Ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp A1 Steak Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Shredded Horseradish
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
To begin you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

The ingredients for the meat mixture in a mixing bowl.

John basically used my Classic Meatloaf Recipe as his base, but amped up the flavors.  So you will need to combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, Italian seasoning, minced onion, garlic powder, horseradish, salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl.

The meat mixture all mixed together in a bowl.

Then, gently, work is all together with your hands.
Remember, just like with meatballs, you don't want to overwork your meat.  Once it is all combined stop mixing.

The formed meatloaf on a foil lined baking sheet.

Now put the meat mixture on a foil lined baking sheet and form into a loaf.

The ingredients for the steakhouse meatloaf glaze in a mixing bowl.

Time to make a glaze!
In a small mixing bowl combine the soy sauce, A1 steak sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, horseradish, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

The glaze for the steakhouse meatloaf mixed together in a bowl.

Whisk it all together until smooth.

Half of the glaze poured over the meatloaf.

After you have whisked it all together pour HALF of the glaze over the meatloaf.

The glazed meatloaf in the oven.

Place the meatloaf into the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.

The half-cooked meatloaf

After 45 minutes remove the meatloaf from the oven and...

The rest of the glaze on the meatloaf.

Pour the other half of the glaze over the top.

Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.

Taking the internal temperature of the meatloaf

After 15 minutes remove from the oven and check the internal temperature of your meatloaf.  It should read 160 degrees F.

Let it rest for 10 minutes and you are ready to slice.

A slice of the finished meatloaf on a plate with mashed potatoes and peas and carrots.

Not only was this one of the most moist meatloaves I have ever eaten, but it is PACKED full of big and bold flavors!  Studhubs Steakhouse Meatloaf Recipe is something you would pay 12.95 for at a restaurant and here you've made it for pennies.  I know your entire family is going to love it so give a try TONIGHT!  Oh, and for my tip that I mentioned earlier.  The next day we had leftovers and I threw and instead of heating this up in the microwave, I put is on the grill.  Oh my lands!  The smokey flavor and grill marks to this to the next level!  As always y'all...

    1. Hey there! I have had a couple people ask me that today. In all honesty, the horseradish adds more of a zestiness than a spice. The meat is so dense that it barely comes through. You can always cut back a little if you are worried.

    1. Meatloaf was my nemesis for a long time. It is tricky, but I feel like this base is pretty much food proof and the flavors my hubby added are really good!
