Have you ever been in the middle of making a recipe and discovered "OH NO! I NEED BUTTERMILK!?! I DON'T HAVE BUTTERMILK!"? Yeah, me too. There was a time when I would have just thrown everything out and ordered pizza, but not anymore!
The other day I was watching a program on the Food Network and the t.v. chef blew my mind and changed my culinary world forever! They said that if you ever need buttermilk, but don't have any on hand, just add a tsp. of white vinegar per cup of milk and TA-DA, instant buttermilk!
I would be lying if I said that I didn't use this technique more often than I actually buy buttermilk.
So there you have it! No more excused not to make wonderful dishes using buttermilk again!
