Homemade Banana Bread

I am sure this never happens to any of you, but sometimes I buy things at the store, with the best intentions, but then life happens and at the end of the week here I have an entire bunch of bananas sitting on my counter, ripe as ripe can be.  Some of you would say "cut your losses and throw them away", but I HATE waste!  So what do I do with them?  Whip up some SCRUMPTIOUS Banana Bread of course!  This recipe is so simple and you will not believe how moist and delicious it is!

Let's get started!

Homemade Banana Bread:
*Prep Time:  20 min.  *Cook Time: 60 min.  *Difficulty:  Easy  *Servings: 1 loaf

Ingredients:

  • 2 c. Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 5 Bananas, mashed
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 c. Walnuts, chopped (optional)

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.

To begin, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large mixing bowl.

Then, in a separate bowl, mash up the bananas with a masher.

To the bananas add the sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla.

Mix it all together.

Add the banana mixture to the flour mixture.

Stir it together until everything is well incorporated.
We are not real nut lovers in my family, but if you would like you could add a 1/4 c. chopped walnuts to the batter at this point.

Pour the batter into a greased bread pan.

Place in a 350 degree oven and bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

After Baking, place on a cooling rack for 10 minutes and enjoy!

This banana bread is so moist and delicious!  Not to mention your house is going to smell amazing!  Trust me when I say that your ENTIRE family is going to go crazy over it!  So get in your kitchen and make this amazing Banana Bread tonight!

As Always...
