Ingredients

Main

  • 1 bag soy curls (2–3 cups dry)
  • 1–2 bell peppers, sliced

For Rehydrating

  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1–2 tsp Better Than Bouillon “No Beef” base

Flavor Coating

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegan oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½–1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • ¼–½ cup water







Instructions

Step 1: Rehydrate

Soak soy curls in hot broth for 10 minutes. Drain and squeeze out excess liquid.

Step 2: Coat

Toss soy curls with hoisin, vegan oyster sauce, and soy sauce.

Step 3: Sear

Cook in a hot pan until browned and slightly crispy. Remove and set aside.

Step 4: Cook Veggies

Sauté onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Add garlic and ginger.

Step 5: Combine

Add soy curls back in. Pour sauce over and cook until thickened.

How to Serve

  • Over rice
  • Over noodles
  • Over a baked potato








Use Real Beef Instead (Optional)

If you want a traditional version, swap soy curls for:

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

Prep the Beef

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp oil

Let sit for 10–15 minutes.

Cook

Sear beef for 2–3 minutes, remove, then follow the same recipe steps.
