Copycat Cracker Barrel Crockpot Chicken and Rice Recipe

I don't know about you, but I find food inspiration everywhere.  For example, I was watching my Instagram stories the other day, and one of the YouTubers that I follow was at Cracker Barrel. She was eating the chicken and rice.  You know how it is when you see something like that, you immediately want it. It was then that I set out to figure out how I can make it at home.  That's how my Copycat Cracker Barrel Chicken and Rice came about!

Made in the crockpot, using only three ingredients, this Chicken and Rice recipe is a real weeknight game changer!  I know you're going to love it so...

Let's get started!

*Prep Time: 3 min.  *Cook Time: 4 hours *Difficulty:  Easy  *Servings: 4

Ingredients:

The ingredients needed to make the Crockpot Chicken and Rice.

  • 4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Minced Onion
  • Cooked rice of your choice
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
This recipe is going to happen so fast it's going to make your head spin, so get ready!

The boneless, skinless, chicken breasts in the crockpot.

Firstly, you are going to place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.

The cream of mushroom soup in a small mixing bowl.

In a small dish, add the cream of mushroom soup,
(I used the Fit & Active one from Aldi to make it a LITTLE bit healthier.)

The dried mixed onion added to the cream of mushroom soup and mixed together.

And dried minced onion with the pepper.

Mix it all together.

I do this because I just feel like it helps all the seasonings distribute evenly over the chicken.

The onion and soup mixture spread over the chicken in the crockpot.

And with that, you will spread the soup mixture all over the chicken breasts.

The crockpot on LOW, whilst sitting on the counter.

Place the lid on your crockpot and turn it to low.

Cook the chicken for 4 to 6 hours.
(I was using thin sliced breasts so they were finished in 2 hours so check them at the 4 hour point)

The fully cooked chicken and gravy in the crockpot.

Give the chicken breasts a toss in the gravy and there you have it!

Simply serve this over any style rice you prefer, just prepare it according to the directions on the package.  I made some simple steamed broccoli to go with it and it was DELICIOUS!  It was so good that my husband requested that we have this at least once a month.  He never does that!  So if you want a delicious, super simple, meal that the whole family will love give this Copycat Cracker Barrel Chicken and Rice Recipe a try TONIGHT!

And as always...

    1. How did you know they were done at 2 hours? Did you use a meat thermometer or what?

      1. Yes, when they were no longer pink and falling apart I did check the internal temperature.
