*This post contains affiliate links*

I've never met a potato I didn't like.  Seriously, I love them.  In the words of Samwise Gamgee "fry em, boil em, put em in a stew." Yeah, I'm there.  And if you're someone who doesn't like potatoes I think we may need to reevaluate our friendship.  I'm kidding, but honestly?  ANYWHO, back to potatoes.  At the top of my potato love list is fries.  Yes, I LOVE a good fry.  And now I can indulge in these naughty treats absolutely GUILT-FREE with my Perfect No-Oil Oven Fries.

The finished no-oil oven fries, on a wood cutting board, with the title above.

Crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, these Perfect No-Oil Oven Fries are so epically delicious you may never deep fry them again!  I can't wait to share them with you so...

Let's Get Started!

Perfect No-Oil Oven Fries Recipe:
*Prep Time: 15 min *Cook Time: 30 min *Difficulty:  Easy *Servings: 4-6

Ingredients:

The ingredients needed to make the no-oil oven fries.

  • 5 potatoes, cut into fry sticks
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Seasoning Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
To begin you will need preheat your oven to 450 degrees.

Potatoes being sliced and cut into the fries.

Then, slice your potato in 1/2 in slices, lengthwise.
Then, cut each slice in to sticks.

Me demonstrating the proper width of the slices.

In case you aren't sure, this is thickness I cut each potato.

Salt being added to the pot with the fries in it.

Place the cut potatoes into a pot and add 1 tsp of salt.

The pot filled with potatoes and water over the flame on the stove.

Cover the potatoes with water and place over high heat.

Potatoes JUST at a boil.

Let the potatoes cook until the water JUST comes to a boil.
You just want to slightly cook the potatoes.

The drained potatoes.

Drain them and return back to the pot.

Flour being added to the potatoes in the pot.

At this point you will add the flour,
(This is what keeps the fries from sticking to the pan.)

Seasoning salt being added to the pot with the drained potatoes.

seasoning salt,

Onion powder being added to the pot of potatoes.

onion powder,

Garlic powder being added to the potatoes.

and garlic powder.

The pot containing the seasoned potatoes with a lid on it.

Place the lid on the pot and SHAKE!
PSA-You will want to wear pot holders for this.  The pan will still be hot.

The coated fries in the pot

All your potatoes should be coated not.

Place on a baking sheet in a single layer.
I like to use the Nordic Ware Natural Aluminum Commercial Baker's Half Sheet Pans lined with a silicone baking mat which I will link (HERE) and (HERE).

Place the baking sheet into a 450 degree oven for 15 minutes.

You can see after 15 minutes that the fries are already starting to brown.
Stir them around and put them back into the oven for another 15 minutes.

Oh my goodness!  Look at that delicious potato goodness!

Look at how Golden brown and crisp the outside is and trust me when I say the inside is tender and delicious!  These are hands down my FAVORITE fries I make at home and I know you are going to love them so get in the kitchen and give them a try TONIGHT!!

And as always...

The recipe for no-oil oven fries offers a healthier alternative to traditional fried potatoes. To customize the flavor, experiment with different potato varieties or seasoning blends. Ensure the potatoes are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture for maximum flavor. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking. For extra crispiness, soak potato slices in cold water for 30 minutes and pat them dry. Keep an eye on the fries towards the end of cooking to prevent burning. Serve hot with dipping sauce or grilled proteins for a satisfying meal.
