Hawaiian BBQ Burger

Summer is just around the corner, and that means the #SummerofGrilling is FINALLY here!  I can't think of a better way to break in the grill after a long winter stall than my Hawaiian BBQ Burgers!

Sweet, savory, spicy, these burgers are EVERYTHING you want your burger to be, and I can't wait to share it with you!

Let's Get Started!
When I'm getting ready to throw any BBQ, whether it's the first one of the season or later in the year, Giant Eagle is one of my first stops!  Giant Eagle has everything you need to make your #SummerofGrilling a huge success from high quality beef patties in their Market District line, to condiments of every variety such as Heinz BBQ Sauce, delicious Kraft Cheese, and amazing produce!  You definitely can't go wrong.

I easily made my way through the store, grabbed all of my ingredients, and headed home to get this party started!

Hawaiian BBQ Burgers:
*Prep Time: 3 min.  *Cook Time: 8-12 min.  *Difficulty:  Easy  *Servings: 1 Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pretzel Bun
  • 1 Giant Eagle Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers, Certified Angus Beef
  • 1 Slice of Canned Pineapple
  • 1 Slice of Kraft All Natural American Cheese
  • 1 Slice of Red Onion
  • 1 Tbsp of Heinz BBQ Sauce, Classic Sweet & Thick
  • Salt and Pepper
To begin you will want to preheat your grill to MEDIUM/HIGH, about 400 degrees.

While you are waiting for your grill to get nice and hot, you can season your Giant Eagle Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers with salt and pepper on both sides.

Once your grill is nice and hot place the certified angus beef patties on the grill and let them cook for 4-6 minutes.

I like my burgers to be a nice medium, so I cook them for 4 minutes, but if you are more of a well done person cook them for 6.

After 4-6 minutes, flip the burger and cook them another 4-6 minutes depending on how you like them.

Once you get your burgers to the doneness you desire turn off the heat and place a slice of Kraft All Natural American Cheese on each patty.

Then add a tablespoon of the Heinz Classic Sweet & Thick BBQ sauce on each burger.

While the grates are still hot you will place the pretzel buns face down as well as the pineapple on the grill.  Let them cook until you have nice grill marks.

I should point out that you will need to spritz them with nonstick spray.

Once the cheese has melted and the buns and pineapple have nice grill marks you can remove everything from the grill.

Simply add a nice slice of red onion to this Hawaiian BBQ Burger and this #SummerofGrilling is off with a BANG!  The Giant Eagle Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers are so juicy and full of flavor, the Kraft All Natural Cheese is creamy and gooey, the grilled pineapple adds that sweet smokiness, the Heinz Classic Sweet & Thick BBQ Sauce adds the tang that you want, and the red onion adds just enough spice to make this burger the king of the grill.  The best part...You can get all of these items, at a great price, with just one trip to Giant Eagle.

I personally like to serve this burger with my Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries, and nothing washes it down better that the Lipton Ready to Drink Diet Peach Iced Tea.  I would love to hear what some of your summer BBQ favorites from Giant Eagle are, so leave them in the comments. And as always...

Happy Reading, Happy Eating, and Happy Living,
