Picture this; You've made it through the holiday season.  The gifts have been opened, meals have been prepared and eaten, everything has been cleaned up.  Time to relax.  BUT WAIT!  All of the sudden you remember that the Joneses are having their annual New Year's Eve get together and you promised to bring a scrumptious appetizer that everyone will love.  The thing is you are out of time, out of money, and out of steam.  DON'T WORRY about it.  Sometimes some of the BEST appetizers for parties and ball games come from those every day items you have in your pantry.  Take my Spicy, Turkey Pinwheel Appetizer Recipe for example.

By thinking outside of the box, we're #KickingUptheFlavor by using one of my favorite pantry staples, Pace® Chunky Salsa.  When I'm going through Walmart, I always swing through the salsa aisle. Pace® Salsa is great to have on hand for occasions just like this one!  Not to mention all of the other different ways you can use it to enhance your cooking.

And because of that you aren't going to believe how simple and delicious these Spicy Turkey Pinwheel Appetizers are, or how quick they come together!  I can't wait to share them with you so...

Let's Get Started!

Spicy Turkey Pinwheel Appetizers:
*Prep Time: 10 min.  *Cook Time:-- *Difficulty:  Easy  *Servings:

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 c. Pace® Chunky Salsa, medium
  • 1 8 oz. Block of Cream Cheese, room temperature
  • 3 Large Tortilla Shells
  • Slices slices of Deli-style Turkey Meat
  • Fresh Baby Spinach

So to get this super simple appetizer rolling, place the room temperature cream cheese into a mixing bowl.

Next pour the Pace® Chunky Salsa into the bowl with the cream cheese.

Now whisk it together until the cream cheese and the Pace® Chunky Salsa are combined.

After that, place the large tortilla shell on your counter and spread a thin layer of the cheese mixture all over it.

Place the turkey meat over the cheese mixture.

And finally, cover the surface with the fresh baby spinach.
I like to trim the stems off for this.  It just makes it a little easier to eat and cut, I think.

Now roll it up into a tight cigar shape.

Firmly wrap it is cling wrap and place in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours, or even overnight.
This is going to help these pinwheel to slice easily and hold together.

After they have set up in the refrigerator, you can take them out and slice them and set them on a platter.

I mean come on, if you were approached at a party with this tray you KNOW you would take one of these. You get the creaminess from the cream cheese, spiciness from from the Pace® Chunky Salsa, saltiness from the turkey meat, and the spinach adds that touch of freshness and crunch that brings everything together.  These Spicy Turkey Pinwheel Appetizers really are the perfect party food, and you would never guess that you threw them together with stuff you had leftover in your fridge.  So this New Year's don't stress over what to make, just think outside of the box and #KickUptheFlavor!  And, if you have any other easy appetizers I would love to hear about them.  And as always...

    1. Yay! They were pretty yummy! And the idea of spinach in place of the lettuce is a great way to get some good nutrients in their lunch as well.
