Cheddar Burgers with Bacon Jam

Here we are, DAY 4 of our All American BBQ Challenge! 
We have seen some amazing recipes for your Fourth of July Festivities such as Tom Racer's Sweet and Spicy BBQ Sauce, Grilled BBQ Chicken, and Perfectly Grilled Steak!  However, you can't have an All American BBQ without a great burger, and boy oh boy do I have one for you!!!  Let me just sum this up for you in two words...
BACON JAM
Oh yeah, those Bacon Cheese Burgers will never be the same again.
Let me show you how I did it! 

Cheddar Burgers with Bacon Jam:
*Prep Time: 5 min.  *Cook Time:  6-8 min.  *Difficulty:  Easy  *Servings:  4 burgers
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. of Ground Beef
  • 2 c. of shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • All Purpose Seasoning (HERE)
  • Bacon Jam (HERE)
  • Onion Buns
Tools:

  • Grill or Skillet
  • Grater

To begin, I like to portion my meat into 4 equal parts. 


Then, I roll them in a ball, and pat them out thinly. 
I know, I know, I am one of those strange people who like thin burgers.


After patting them out, I season them with my All Purpose Seasoning.
You can also use salt and pepper with some garlic powder.


Once the patties are seasoned on both sides, take your thumb and make a little dimple in the center of the patty. 
 This will keep the burger from puffing up and shrinking. 
I have no idea how it works, I just know that it does. 


Now it is time grate the cheddar cheese.
You can also use sliced cheese on these as well.
This is just what I had on hand.


Time to head out to the grill!
I like to cook mine over a medium/high heat.

3-4 minutes on one side...

Then FLIP!

You will need to keep an eye on things. 
 If there are a lot of flare-ups, move the patty to another spot.

Add the cheese on top and let cook for another 3-4 minutes.

YUM!
Juicy, cheesy, everything a burger should be, BUT WAIT...
THERE'S MORE!!!!


Time to kick things up a notch! 
It's BACON JAM time!


And there you have it, the PERFECT burger for your holiday delight!
The bacon jam hits your taste buds like a tidal wave. 
 You have the sweet, salty, smoky, tangy, spicy...EVERYTHINHG!

Your mind will be blown and your family and guests will be talking about this one for a while!

So fire up that grill and make these AMAZING Cheddar Burger with Bacon Jam tonight!

Cheddar Burgers with Bacon Jam:

Directions:
  1. Separate the meat into 4 equal portions.
  2. Roll in a ball and press into a thin patty.
  3. Season on both sides.
  4. Make a dimple in the center of one side of the patty with your thumb.
  5. Grate the cheese.
  6. Place on a medium/high grill and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Flip, top with cheese, and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  8. Place on bun.
  9. Add bacon jam.
  10. SERVE AND ENJOY!
